3 Stars

Martas Legacy, for both books were as usual per Francine Rivers, written beautifully.  She is a fabulous author and I absolutely LOVE her work. Although I do not love this piece.  I rated it 3 stars because I just couldn't rate Francine Rivers with anything less.  That being said, this series is extremely heart wrenching.  I will not read it again because of this.  I do not enjoy the feelings this series pulled me through.  Her books are all deep and meaningful, however this one, just never gave me the happy ending I need in a book.  If you don't need that, and don't have tendencies toward depression, this book series is fantastic.  However, if you do NOT enjoy crying through out a good book, I do not recommend it!

4 stars!

Cinder, by Marissa Meyer, is the first book in the Lunar Chronicles. The unique take on fairy tales is fun and refreshing.  Cinder is a twist of of 'Cinderella'.  She is part human, part cyborg.  I never really thought I would be reading a book about a cyborg.  I almost don't even want to tell you this book is about a cyborg in fear it might turn you away!  But the story line is fabulous, and there is such a sweet romance between Cinder and the prince!  Lovely lovely story!

4 Stars!

Scarlet, by Marissa Meyer, is the second book in Lunar Chronicles and is just as EXCITING as Cinder!  Scarlet is a twist of 'Little Red Riding Hood'.  Again, super exciting with BIG BAD wolves as the nemesis.  Easy, light read.  No need for tears in these books! Can't wait for the next one!!!
Wallbanger by Alice Clayton
4 stars!

I loved this quirky book!  What a sweet twist on a love story.  Pink Nighty Girl and her crazy baking skills, Wallbanger and his love for her quick breads.  Great characters that are witty, love the text messages.  This book makes you giggle AND feel tingly all over.
Nice light read.  Not so heavy you are crying.  Great 'build' up.

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover

Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
5 stars!!!!

*I labeled this book as a YA.  The material in this book is for mature readers due to sexual content and heavy subject matter involving abuse.  I wouldn't hand this book to a young teenager in the middle school, but I do feel it is certainly high school age appropriate.
This book is not at all what I expected it to be.  I was afraid it was about a young girl  'hopelessly' in love with some high school boy.  I started reading it and actually then stopped.  With names like 'Sky' and 'Holder', I just thought there wasn't going to be any depth to this book.  I could not have been more wrong.  What a great book!  Hopeless does not mean what I thought it meant after all.  No spoilers here, so I won't tell you what it does mean.  You will just have to read the story to find out!
I hope it is OK to quote a review.  I am new at these reviews and am having a hard time putting how I feel about a book into words.  Lynn's Reads seems to say it perfectly!
"HOPELESS has set the bar for the best first kiss in the history of first kisses.  And the best leading man.  And the best plot twists.  And the best love-making.  And the best last 'chapter.'  I guess it's safe to say this book has set the bar for every book I pick up from here on out." ~Lynn's Reads
